UT3 vs Halo – You Just Got Served!
We released our UT3 vs Halo machinima as our contribution to One Shared Vision . To say it’s been successful is an understatement. With over 175,000 youtube views (including all of the ones that got deleted) , it went moderately viral and may have sparked a new series for us. Watch out Rooster Teeth, here comes Treadster…rawr
Check it out here!
The original concept for this short was supposed to be a very violent confrontation between these two juggernauts but I eventually decided to leave all of the violence out of it and focus on the dance battle. That may will change as we work on the next episodes.
Huge props to Ricky Grove (aka gToon) for the excellent sound work and to my lovely love of loves for the fantastic soundtrack selection.
Thanks all!
Treadster Media welcomes 3 new faces
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce 3 new members of the Treadster Media production crew. They are:
Douglas Oberndorf – Doug is a Professor at the International Academy of Design and Technology and is an expert in the Unreal Engine as well as numerous 3D applications. Doug will be handling all of the special effects for the film as well as automating some of the extras (cars, people, props) in Kismet. Dougs website http://www.dougoberndorf.com/ut3_gameplay_tutorials_home.html is full of awesome tutorials for Unreal Engine fun!
Desan Taggart – Is an amazing environment artist currently creating the church (interior and exterior) in episode 1 (www.treadster.com/images/Church.jpg -http://www.desan.szm.sk/cathedral/gothic06.jpg). Desan will also be creating the chemical factory and various other sets for the project. His level of detail is amazing and his models are as high a quality as I have seen. His website is http://www.desan.sk/index40.html so check it out!
Micah McNeely – a talented environmental artist who also has a solid understanding of various 3D apps and is quickly coming up to speed in Unreal Editor. He will be creating the control room in the opening of episode 1, the boardroom for episode 2, police station on Asteroid 109. as well as the interiors of the hellbender and scorpion. He will also be helping me to create custom vehicles and environments for the series. http://micah3d.net/Portfolio.html - some really good stuff there, check it out.
These three are going to help us create stunning environments, incredible special effects, and unique vehicles and characters that will really elevate our series to the next level. We are very lucky to have you guys apart of the group. Welcome aboard.
DoubleKill reaches 69,000 views in 6 days at M.com
So I submitted our little machinima “DoubleKill MSUC edition” to m.com a few days ago. Didn’t see it pop up on Machinima.com so I thought…”eh, they must not have like it” - I came across it in a search today. 69,000 views and almost 400 comments. You guys are so amazingly awesome for the hard work and dedication you put into this. Not that I put all the stock in the world in this but it’s a fine compliment to the hard work we all put in. Thanks everyone!
I have released our latest short film called “Fate of the Union” - Enjoy ![]()
