Anatomy of a 3D fight scene
After completing Jess for the MSUC, I was turned on to what is probably some of the best martial arts I have seen in a movie so far. The movie is called Dragon Tiger Gate. I loved it so much I bought the blu-ray on Amazon (2 weeks ago and still waiting btw
( ).
I decided to try and animate a semi realistic 3D fight scene for myself this time using the Gears of War characters. Well one thing led to another and there had to be a beginning and an end so that is what I am working on currently. Here are a couple images from that scene. Big thanks to Zach Scott who suggested I turn the map from day to night and basically fix everything… Its working out great. Look for a release in a couple weeks. Cheers!
Hey all! Sorry things have been a little quiet here lately. I have been battling some health stuff lately that has all but zapped my energy. When I can however I have been doing some tests to see if I can make my next GoW movie in glorious 3DS max. I think I can I think I can I think I can. Here are a couple renders for you to chew on! Hope you guys are great!

My goodness, these pictures are amazing. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. BTW, Donnie Yen created the fight choreography for Dragon Tiger Gate (and also starred in the film). He won several awards for his most recent film “IP Man” about the Wing Chun master who taught Bruce Lee. It’s an amazing film and I believe Donnie choreographed that films as well.
