Show the movie to someone whose opinion you trust. Make some tweaks, show it again without telling them what you did, and if they can't tell the difference or don't care, stop right there.

I discovered the following truth while digging a small fish pond in the rural foothills of Northern California-- Raccoons can't swim and eat at the same time.

Can anybody do two things at once? Not me. Writers can't write and edit simultaneously. Lovers can't perform and critique their performance at the same time. Something either gets lost, or never happens.

Producers and animators are in the same boat.

We're poor judges of ourselves. If we knew how to be better, we would probably already be better. Besides, if perfection were instantly available, life would have no meaning.

As a sculptor I will tell you that every piece of finished art comes from a formless mass of clay. Vision is the motivator, experience is the teacher. Perfection comes by degrees.

Don't rush it. Most of what you produce in this life will be crap to others... but stepping stones to you.
